From Florence you can explore the local charms or take a high speed train and visit the nearby cities of Pisa, Venice, or Rome, which is two hours away.

Tuscany is the fifth largest region of Italy and is located in the heart of that country bordering on the Tyrrhenian Sea. The region is mostly rural, and has a pleasing and diverse landscape, ranging from the snowy peaks of the Apennine mountains to the green hills of Chianti to the beaches on the Tyrrhenian coast.
Majestic forests of pine and Cypress are found throughout the interior, as well as numerous olive groves and grassy hills. Tuscany is the birthplace of many great Renaissance artists, and the Chianti area of Tuscany is well known for its vineyards and world famous wines. Florence is the capital city of the Tuscany region. Florence is one of the most beautiful cities in the world; for many people, it is the most splendid. Its palaces, churches and museums overflow with masterful paintings and sculpture. As the birthplace of the Renaissance, the city combines unequaled beauty with centuries of history in a heady mix. Your first glimpse of the Duomo, set incongruously in the midst of streaming traffic, is likely to take your breath away. The spirits of Da Vinci, Dante, Boccaccio, Michelangelo and the Medicis are palpable on virtually any street, and the days of the Renaissance seem close at hand.

Included in this tour will be six nights at Macchiavelli Florence Hotel (website) , daily breakfast, welcome dinner and farewell dinner in a small Tuscanian village restaurant with music. Guided sightseeing tour of the cradle of the Renaissance. Visit the beautiful Piazza del Duomo, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiora, Giotto’s Bell Tower, the Baptistery of St. John, the Academy of Fine Arts Gallery, housing the “David” by, Michelangelo and Santa Croce, the 13th century Fransiscan Church with Cimabue’s famous crucifix.
